Knowledge management has become a critical function in business operations. Accountants and business consultants increasingly are being judged on their skills. A problem most accounting firms face is that their knowledge is not properly managed; customer information is scattered among various databases, as well as among firm staff. Ernst and Young's knowledge management function is already well-developed.
