Health information system industry stocks have performed better during the 4th qtr of 1999 in spite of regulatory requirements, Balanced Budget Amendments, and Year 2000 concerns. The fundamental trends in the industry indicate that the industry is expected to grow over the years as the need for these services increases along with the Internet. Investors need to be selective with these stocks as the industry is diverse and risky.
