Home appliance industry
Article Abstract:
Home appliance manufacturers have had to provide updated, higher-end lines of products to meet competition and take advantage of the greatly increased disposable income of Americans since 1996. However, the overseas markets of Asia, Latin America, and Europe are more mixed and conditions in each region are expected to fluctuate. These stocks are not attractive for 1998 and 1999 and investors must be selective in their commitments.

Home appliance industry
Article Abstract:
Market conditions for the home appliance industry will be challenging in 1998, both abroad and in the US, with slower retail shipment growth, less expensive foreign imports, and lower international sales. However, the industry prospects for the next three to five years appear brighter than in 1998. There are few attractive stocks for investors in 1998, but some of the global companies might do well through the years 2001-2003.
