Article Abstract:
The land tax ruling given by Office of State Revenue, New South Wales became a cause for dispute, forcing the state government to withdraw it. The accounting fraternity called it unfair, especially since it was applicable retrospectively. Implications of said ruling are discussed. The adverse effects of such retracing of steps by the state government on impression about state's financial management are also discussed.

John Magowan heads the company, which started with the acquisition of McIntosh Securities in 1995.
