Hotel/gaming industry
Article Abstract:
Increased business travel with the good economy has made the demand side of the hotel industry strong in most markets, and room addition has decreased on the supply side. Competition among casinos has also increased, and gambling markets such as Atlantic City, NJ, and Las Vegas, NV, have had problems with capacity. Stocks in these industries can be volatile, or fully priced if stable, but there are several good selections for risk-tolerant investors.

Hotel/gaming industry
Article Abstract:
The lodging (hotels and motels) section of the hotel/gaming industry has been financially strong throughout the 1990s and is expected to continue favorably, however the over saturation of the casino gambling section makes its stocks risky. Slot machine manufacturers, such as International Game Technology, stand to benefit from continuing casino construction in 1997.
