Hotel/gaming industry
Article Abstract:
Major hotel chains appear to be a good investment source for more conservative investors who might shy away from even economically healthy casinos and gaming places. Large hotel chains that dropped expansion in the last few years are now in a financial position to consider new construction that is warranted by the present demand being greater than the supply. The already established gaming industries will probably continue as before but 1996 state elections saw defeat of many plans for expansion of the industry.

Hotel chains are enjoying good results from vacation and business travel, with centralized reservation systems and hotel name identification aiding major operators. Several hotel and gambling stocks have good appreciation potential through 1998-2000.
