House leadership elections held
Article Abstract:
The Republican and Democratic parties elected their respective leaders on Dec 7-8, 1992. Most of the key positions did not change hands. Rep Jerry Lewis was replaced as chairman of the House Republican Conference by Rep Richard K. Armey.

Pro-democracy activist Chuan Leekpai was elected premier of Thailand on Sep 23, 1992. The Democratic Party, the New Aspiration Party, the Palang Dharma party and the Solidarity party won a majority in the lower house.

Aquino ally leads in Philippine elections

Fidel Ramos led the candidates in the Philippine presidential elections on May 19, 1992, with 32% of the votes counted. Miriam Defensor Santiago, who was second, accused Ramos of massive fraud in the elections.
