How we solved our problems: Coca-Cola writes an accounting procedures manual
Article Abstract:
A comprehensive accounting manual was developed by Coca-Cola for use outside the U.S. The manual contains a chart of accounts and account definitions (Part I) and standard practices and procedures (Part II). The manual was a result of team effort, and it was decided not to simply edit the old manual but to completely rewrite it. All team members did an equal amount of writing and editing. Distribution of the manual was restricted and the mailing list was periodically reviewed and updated.

Coaching
Article Abstract:
Coaching is an efficient method for executives to manage the performance of employees. The steps in coaching include creating a need to know in employees; clearly establishing specific learning goals; and telling employees how to perform necessary skills. The need for coaching occurs when employees' expected job performance is inconsistent with their actual performance, and when the problems are simple enough to be corrected on the job.
