Human resource management: leaders, laggards and followers
Article Abstract:
Human resource (HR) management in most American firms are characterized into leaders, laggards and followers. HR leaders enhance their competitiveness by combining downsizing with reengineering, employee involvement programs and reengineering. HR laggards are those less likely to retrain and redeploy workers compared with the leaders. HR followers refer to firms experiencing problems such as an indifferent middle management and short-term pressures.
