Political, social and financial strategy seems to be clearer with hindsight, especially when the leaders who created the strategy are provide their own post-mortems. Australian political leaders Peter Keating, John Button and Peter Walsh have been known to offer retrospective opinions that provide the kind of candor which they avoided when they were in public office.

Changes in the tax program in Australia will have a major impact on business. All businesses will enter tax collection. Capital gains taxes will cover assets acquired before Sep 1985, trusts will no longer be able to protect assets or provide for succession planning and property and equity trust investors will be taxed on surplus cashflow.
