IDEC, Genentech to issue warnings on cancer drug
Article Abstract:
IDEC Pharmaceuticals Corp. and Genentech Inc. will issue letters to physicians regarding the side effects of Rituxan, side effects that were already known. Since there have been eight deaths reported in the one year since the drug was approved, and since a letter was sent to all doctors in Europe, the two drug companies are taking the precaution one step further. The drug, used to treat some lymphomas, caused a breathing problem in the patients who died. The two companies co-market the drug; it is IDEC's only approved drug to date.

Internet IPOs challenge conventional wisdom
Article Abstract:
It seems that online retailers are not the only ones making money these days when they go public. It seems the Internet is becoming profitable from every aspect including for the start-up switch makers who are making fast internet access possible. Companies like Foundry, Extreme and Alteon are finally seeing profits after hanging on to the industry for so long. It would look like this is only the beginning for another craze of Internet related stocks.
