India: more ministers charged in bribe probe

Fourteen Indian politicians were the latest named in a bribery investigation that has already caused four top ministers to resign. The fourteen implicated included four more ministers. The investigation is based on incidents of bribery recorded by industrialist Surendra K. Jain.

Prudential cites suit deadline

Prudential Securities settled a $100-million class-action suit on Nov 17, 1995, filed by 130,000 investors who lost money during the 1980s. Many plaintiffs were angry that they were not given advance notice of the right to opt out of the class-action settlement.
