Initial data show on-line retailers top expectations: Internet stocks surge; big holiday gains were made despite electronic glitches that consumers faced
Article Abstract:
On-line retailers did better than they planned for the holidays. Clothing sales tripled from last year, jumping from $100 million to $300 million, and Reel.com did seven times as much as last year. Many are not surprised by the increase in sales on the Internet considering the convenience of shopping out of your own home, although they do admit the jump in sales is promising. Consumers preferred the the technical problems they might of had to face over the Internet compared to the physical problems of the overcrowded malls.

Article Abstract:

It seems that marketing pitches from companies like Dell Computer Corp and Gateway have been doing some good.
