Iraqi loan investigation: Federal Reserve revives BNL inquiry

The Federal Reserve has reopened its investigation of Banca Nazionale de Lavore (BNL) to determine if the bank broke any US banking laws when its Atlanta, GA, branch issued over $4 billion worth of secret loans to Iraq. Representatives of BNL in Italy denied involvement in the loans.
