Troops insubordinate, Somali panel says

A panel of military personnel and civilians determined that some members of the Canadian Airborne Regiment in Somalia had created an insubordinate group that displayed the American Confederate flag without approval. Members also were charged with other misconduct, such as setting a car on fire.

Troops diffuse rebel attack in north
Article Abstract:
The Nicaraguan army gained control of some areas of Esteli, Nicaragua, from rebels on Jul 22, 1993. The rebels were protesting the alleged failure to provide them with financial aid that had been promised by the Nicaraguan government after the rebels demobilized.
