Article Abstract:
The Supreme Court has ruled that operating expense tax deductions for home-office expenses are valid only if it can be proven that the home office is the locale for performing major work and the most time is spent in it. Tips for improving the viability of including home-office costs as deductible expenses include the exclusive listing of the home telephone number as the office line, holding supplier discussions and taking deliveries there and providing for facilities that separate the locale as functionally separate from the home.

The marketing strategies of manufacturing industries must consider the aspect of a good relationship with distributorships. After all, distributors are responsible for placing suppliers' goods on the market, and a solid, mutually beneficial relationship could be the influencing factor on whether or not the manufacturer's products receive profitable exposure. Establishing policies and agreements that are equitable to both supplier and distributor would clarify what each party expects of the other.
