Pricewaterhouse accused of conflict with audit clients

PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP has been found to have conducted some conflict-of-interest dealings, primarily out of the former Coopers & Lybrand LLP Tampa office. The dealings involved investing in 70 different firms that were audit clients, a number not seen before by the SEC. The auditing firm has severed its employment arrangements with at least three individuals as a result of the investigation.

Domenick Esposito is appointed CEO of Grant Thornton

"Calmly confident" Domenick Esposito has been appointed CEO of the number six accounting firm, Grant Thornton LLP based in Chicago. His plans for the company are to create more growth in its consulting business. The company's growth has been a little erratic but had a revenue rise of 16% last year, a record for the firm. Esposito leaves a managing partner position in the firm's New York office.
