Kirin play leaves BIL a market outcast

The stock of the New Zealand investment company Brierley Investments Ltd. (BIL) has been shunned by Australian institutional investors because of New Zealand takeover regulations. While BIL may be seen as some as a potentially undervalued stock, the New Zealand takeover regulations work against the interest of minority investors, as the recent takeover of New Zealand brewer Lion Nathan by Kirin shows.
