The provision of efficient and competitive results and prices makes it necessary for Australian businesses to compete vigorously. Although the main objective of the Trade Practices Act is to promote efficient competition, amendments to the act may prove to be a disadvantage to consumers as the prices would decline or they would not remain competitive.
