Boutique hotels in Australia emphasize personal service over glamour and offer a less expensive alternative to most chain hotels. The 59-room Hotel Lindrum in Sydney offers guests pure cotton sheets, a chance to buy theatre tickets, the use of a boardroom, and a prime location from $175 a room. Customers like the small touches of boutiques, like Sydney's Regent Court with its apartment-styled units and kitchen facilities. Lindrum's occupany rate has been 84% and Regents' is 80%.
