Management success in the 21st century will depend upon the ability to work within global financial networks and global corporate networks. The Asian crisis is the result of the difficulties experienced by the region which was initially a low cost manufacturer of goods for Western markets into a major consumer market. The US and Japan tried to correct an economic imbalance but caused economic difficulties instead.
