Manufactured housing/rec. vehicles
Article Abstract:
Stonger-than-expected earnings for some of the larger manufactured housing companies have helped the stocks in this industry, and consolidation within the sector is also expected to increase in 1998. Shipments of recreational vehicles has risen in 1998 and sales are forecast to grow for the next three to five years. These industries will see improved sales and earnings in 1998 and 1999, but investors need to be selective in their choice of stocks.

Manufactured housing/rec. vehicle
Article Abstract:
Good housing shipments and solid growth in earnings have allowed stocks in the manufactured housing industry to perform well in 1998, but sales have not kept up with shipments and lower loan spreads may lead to a slowdown in 1999. Shipments of recreational vehicles increased 15% to 273,000 in 1998, and by 25% in Nov 1998, and this can be expected to continue in 1999. These stocks are timely in 1999 and have good prospects for the year.
