Microsoft plan for licenses sparks gripes
Article Abstract:
Microsoft's new software licensing program will promote a service where companies subscribe to get automatic upgrades for major software such as Windows and Office. Companies in the past simply bought the upgraded version and were able to receive large volume discounts, but under the new program these discounts will be eliminated which will effectively result in the largest price increase ever by Microsoft. In addition, some companies are also upset that the upgrades will be automatic, thus requiring them to buy upgrades that they don't need.
