Universities are creaking, and may yet lose out to slicker foreign competitors
Article Abstract:
Australia's universities are at risk of losing their students to overseas institutions with better infrastructure and management practices. Although competition has made companies more flexible and decentralized, universities are moving in the opposite direction. One solution is the emergence of "corporate universities" which train students for jobs in the sponsoring firm.
