Motorola cuts forecasts and jobs again
Article Abstract:
Motorola Inc. expects its third-quarter earnings to be weaker than expected and the shares dropped 15% on the forecast news. The concern is also planning another round of layoffs that will put almost 2,000 employees out of work. By the end of the year, Motorola expects to eliminate a total of 32,000 jobs. The lack of demand for the company's wireless-telecommunications infrastructure equipment is a large part of the problem.
