Movements, bandwagons and clones are three logical configurations that represent the process of entrepreneurship and development of an industry. Movements pertains to organizing processes where establishment of new business entities results. Bandwagons involve searching for ways to develop the potential of a newly established organization. Clones, meanwhile, represent processes where propagation and incorporation of business resources take place.

Regulatory focus theory delineates how people engage in self-regulation, the process of bringing oneself into alignment with one's standards and goals. Regulatory focus theory provides a well-developed framework to better understand the various motives, beliefs and behaviors that eventually dictate whether a given entrepreneurial venture will be successful.

Event- and outcome-driven explanations of entrepreneurship
Article Abstract:
Building upon Aldrich's distinction, it is argued that even-driven and outcome-driven explanations represent different kinds of process and variance theories that are based on fundamentally different ontological assumptions. Further variance and process theories are examined and compared.
