Multimedia data modeling and database design for project delay management
Article Abstract:
Visual and auditory multimedia applications are especially useful in project delay management particularly in the construction industry. Pictures and audio evidence of unnecessary and incorrect construction practices can provide visual guidelines to trainees about complex operations. Developing an automated information system utilizing multimedia in support of delay management involves problem definition followed by conceptual modeling which is a graphical representation of the problem. Computational modeling and computer modeling are the final steps in the database design.

The seven legal elements necessary for a successful claim for a constructive acceleration
Article Abstract:
Construction contracting projects are prone to legal disputes such as time extension project claims. The claims often arise from increased costs due to the delay of project completion. Project managers should document such incidents and note the legal elements that were applied to minimize delay. The elements of an acceleration claim are excusable delay, timely notice to owner, timely request for extension, failure to grant extension, order of compliance with previous completion date, attempt to accelerate and evidence of cost increase.
