NEA chairwoman Anne-Imelda Radice rejected two grants that had been approved by review panels because the exhibits involved sexual materials. The grants were for exhibits at the List Visual Arts Center and the Anderson Gallery.

Pres Bush vetoed a family-leave bill on Sep 22, 1992. The bill would have required large employers to provide their employees with unpaid medical and family leave. The Senate voted to override the veto on Sep 24, 1992.
