Natural gas (diversified) industry
Article Abstract:
Stocks in the diversified natural gas industry have performed poorly in 1998 and 1999, and have become untimely, through price weaknesses in the commodity markets and resulting poor earnings. Consolidation and diversification are two of the methods that many companies in this industry are using to improve their share earnings growth. Investors need to be selective in their commitments in this sector, but several stocks have good potential for dividend growth or price appreciation over the next three to five years.

Natural gas (diversified) industry
Article Abstract:
Stocks in the natural gas (diversified) industry are not timely in 1999, as the earnings-per-share for the companies which comprise this sector have been lackluster due to weak commodity markets. The storage levels for natural gas have shrunk for the period ending June 17, 1999, spot prices have risen, and natural gas exploration and production has stabilized. Several stocks in this industry have good potential for the next three to five years, although most are not timely for the year ahead.
