Here's how to run your PCs remotely by using the Internet
Article Abstract:
For as little as $10/month there is a service, found at www.gotomypc.com, that will allow access to remote PCs from almost any Windows PC with Internet access. This means it is not necessary to carry one's laptop everywhere to get this access. The access even works through some firewalls if the target PC is protected by one. The target PC must have the software installed first for this remote access service to work. The software and service compares with pcAnywhere from Symantec and LapLink Gold from LapLink. GoToMyPC comes from a Santa Barbara company, Expertcity Inc.

WordPerfect is back and giving Microsoft needed competition
Article Abstract:
Corel is introducing a new version of the WordPerfect word processor. WordPerfect for Windows 95 7.1 will compete favorably with Microsoft's Word and offers most of its most important features. Corel, which purchased the word processor earlier in 1996, will not market WordPerfect as an individual product, but offers it as part of its WordPerfect Suite 7.0 integrated software. The suite, which lists for $260, includes the Quattro Pro spreadsheet, the Sidekick personal organizer and Internet software as well as 10,000 clip-art graphics. The software is available for $99 for users that are upgrading from almost any competing word processor or spreadsheet. The new version of WordPerfect automatically checks spelling and corrects errors on the fly. It also automatically formats fractions, ordinals and common symbols.
