Sprint TP3000 puts organizer functions on a cellular phone
Article Abstract:
The Sprint TP3000 is a wireless phone with organizer functions and Internet capability. Despite having a good synchronizer process, the TP3000's organizer software is inferior to that of the Palm, and is disappointing as an Internet device because of its insensitive and insufficiently wide screen.

Sony's new Clie offers some big improvements over the first model
Article Abstract:
Sony's new Clie's good features include a sharp color display, multimedia features and a jog dial navigation tool on the side. The built-in digital music player is nearly worthless, though, because the new Clie can store a mere eight minutes of decent-sounding MP3 music. The new Clie has 8 megabytes of internal memory, but has no built-in wireless connectivity for Web data or e-mail. The device will cost $499 and will be available in June.

HandEra's hand-held puts some new twists on the usual formula
Article Abstract:
The HandEra 330 personal digital assistant has twice the battery life of the Handspring Visor or Palm III, as well as greater resolution and line-capacity on its screen. It has two slots on the back for modules and expansion cards, and comes with a microphone, speaker and dictation software. Drawbacks include difficulty getting it to synchronize with Lotus Organizer, and some problems resulting from rewriting programs to take advantage of the better screen resolution. The choice of a serial port rather than a faster USB port to connect the synchronization cradle is unfortunate. Nonetheless, power users who are impatient with the Palm platform's limitations might find this an intriguing product.
