New rules for pledges and collateral bring higher degree of flexibility for Mexico's credit laws
Article Abstract:
As of May 24, 2000, amendments to Mexico's Law of Negotiable Instruments and Credit Transactions (LNICT) makes it possible for debtors to pledge goods and personal property to creditors without transmitting possession of those goods. The ruling expands the previous definition of 'goods' to include trademarks, commercial names, and accounts receivable.
