More questions are raised about the level and quality of the information disclosed to the market by the biotech managers and directors, who jump to make the most of the revival of investor interest in the biotech sector. Announcements by some small science companies listed on the Australian Stock Exchange, suggest that some directors have liberally interpreted their disclosure requirements.

Biotech in the waiting room

If the recent rally in the stock prices of CSL, Cochlear and ResMed on Australian Stock Exchange (ASE) is any indication, the prospects for the biotechnology sector in 2005 are very bright. With the exception of these three stocks, the sector had registered a growth of 3% against the 23% rise of overall stocks recorded on ASE in 2004.
