Olsten to pay $61 million in Medicare billing case

The temporary office help and home health care firm, Olsten Corp., agreed to pay $6l million to settle a federal case of improper Medicare billing practices of its unit, Kimberly Home Health Care. Olsten denies it is planning to divest the unit. Kimberly contributed less than 1% of the firm's 1998 revenue. Its staffing arm contributed about 60%.
