On the joint decisions of R & D and technology adoption
Article Abstract:
Research presents models that attempt to integrate research and development (R & D) models with technology adoption decision models, since previous research in these areas tends to be mutually exclusive. The integration of the models indicates that (1) increasing R & D costs decreases the likelihood of R & D, and (2) increasing costs of technology adoption and market interest rate increases result in decreasing the likelihood of adopting new technology and decreasing the likelihood of performing R & D. However, in certain situations, increased R & D costs can increase the incentive for adopting new technologies.

The effect of task demands and graphical format on information processing strategies
Article Abstract:
The effects of task demands and graphical formats on decision making are examined in a laboratory experiment. Evaluation and information acquisition behaviors were recorded regarding choices under differing task and graphical format conditions. The findings suggest the format used for presenting information influences the cognitive costs and benefits of the environment and subsequently influences the selection of evaluation and acquisition strategies, as well as the decision time.

Incomplete information, high-low bidding and public information in first price auctions
Article Abstract:
High-low bidding can be used by prospective buyers at auctions to control prices offered, when the subset of the auctioned objects is one or two purchasers who will bid low on some objects and high on other objects, as the other person does the reverse. However, high-low bidding does not mean collusion. With organized modeling of the non-cooperative game of information bidding and purchasing decisions, the results of high-low bidding are seen.
