Oregon rationing plan approved
Article Abstract:
The Clinton administration Mar 19, 1993, approved a plan to ration health care in Oregon that the Bush administration had rejected. The Oregon plan ranks 688 medical procedures based on their effectiveness and the seriousness of the illness, then pays for the first 568 treatments.

Oregon local votes bar protective laws
Article Abstract:
The Oregon towns of Junction City and Canby and the counties of Douglas, Josephine, Linn and Klamath voted to prevent the enactment of any laws that would protect gays' civil rights. The initiative was backed by the conservative group The Oregon Citizens Alliance.
