Organize your efforts
Article Abstract:
Union organizers are beginning to target small businesses with less than 75 employees in an effort to consolidate their organizations. Unionization can have its negative impact on a business so steps must be taken to prevent or counter efforts of union organizers. There are varied legal measures to preventunionization and most are based on maintaining a strong relationship with employees. Being fair and communicating with employees will help employers avert unionization. Unless unionization is avoided, management may have to relinquish discretionary powers to unionized employees.

Keeping your fair share
Article Abstract:
There certainly seems no need to consider contingency measures when a company is healthy and its business partners are on good terms. However,it makes good sense to prepare for an eventual departure by a partner while allwho are involved in the business are still friendly. Essential to a peaceful separation and transition is a shareholders agreement entered into by all partners. While such an agreement does not guarantee continued cordial relations between partners, it could help prevent serious problems that may damage the business in the long run.
