PLO receives $2 billion aid pledge

Forty-three countries agreed to give the Palestine Liberation Organization about $2 billion in credits, grants and loans to help in planning for the future of the Israeli-occupied territories. The contributors included the US, European Community, Israel, Japan and Saudi Arabia.

Donors pledge $7.4 billion aid deal

Several Western countries and the World Bank agreed Jul 2, 1993, to give India $7.4 billion in economic aid for the FY 1993 to 1994. The aid package was an increase of $200 million over the previous fiscal year. The money will be spent on economic reform programs.

World Bank restores aid

The World Bank announced on Apr 21, 1993, that it would provide Kenya with $170 million in aid. The World Bank had withdrawn its aid in 1991 because it decided that Kenya had not been able to reduce corruption and liberalize its economy.
