P&G reaches armistice with partner in joint venture

Procter and Gamble Co.'s raised its ownership stake in its troubled joint venture with Vietnamese company Phoung Dong, but analysts savvy to the Vietnamese market say that it P&G will still be stymied. P&G now owns 93% of Procter and Gamble Vietnam Ltd., up from 70%, but since Vietnamese law requires major investment decisions to be made unanimously, Phoung Dong can still block P&G from exercising greater control over the consumer goods venture.
