Corporate reformers in Australia are pursuing an unrelenting policy of undisclosed expenses and fringe benefits, which are executive excesses. Some annual reports of big companies are now disclosing the non-cash benefits of directors, but even these disclosures are unclear, as the important and relevant details are buried deep in the company accounts.

The innovative process of extracting lactose from whey that was developed by a joint venture between the University of Western Sydney, Food Science Australia and Dairy Australia is discussed. The process has been patented in 1999 and licensed to French separation technology company, Applexion, in 2004.
