Perspective: first, fast, and on time: the path to success. Or is it?
Article Abstract:
A study investigated three significant and widely believed principles pertaining to product development time performance principles. These principles are that the firms who are first to market achieve profit and market share advantages, that reducing development cycle time ultimately leads to business success and that delivering products according to planned schedule is critical to effective planning. It will be shown that these precepts are not as robust as they ought to be. Thus, these principles are rehashed into three, new, suggested market-focused guidelines.
