Planned flexibility: linking anticipation and reaction in product development projects
Article Abstract:
The early stages of the product development process are deemed vital in the success of projects, as they take part in determining long-term consequences. However, companies usually encounter difficulties in identifying problems during the early part of the project due to lack of viable details about the project. To address this problem, companies are encouraged to adopt a comprehensive management strategy that focuses on achieving a balance between the reaction and anticipation aspects of a project. Such an approach would allow managers to anticipate drastic changes along the development process with minimal cost and time allocation.
