Article Abstract:
With the existing enterprise bargaining agreements due to expire in November, unions belonging to the construction industry prefer the government holding talks with them in making new agreements that are in compatible with the union's expectations. The federal government on its part has assured certain initiatives that will prove to be beneficial to the whole of the industry. In case the federal government does not be inline with the expectations of the industry, then most unions are prepared to take to streets.

The Howard government's decision to implement its industrial relations revolution, with newer legislations planned ahead for the construction industry, and its other future plans are discussed. Among the various legislations to be introduced, minister for employment and workplace relations, Kevin Andrews will be passing the legislation for unified system of industrial relations.
