Corporate philanthropic activity is coming under intense criticism from Australian Shareholders Association, which feels that charity is a personal issue and the directors of the company cannot be donating somebody else's profits for such purposes. At the other end, there are those who view large donations from corporate houses merely as a form of advertisement, meant to yield fruits at a later date.
