Prominent student leader released
Article Abstract:
Pro-democracy student leader Wang Dan was released from jail on Feb 17, 1993. Wang had been arrested on Jul 2, 1989, and again on Jan 26, 1991, for the role he played in the 1989 Chinese democracy movement. The Chinese Xinhua News Agency reported that all students involved in the movement had been freed.

Black-white income disparity reported
Article Abstract:
Data from the 1990 Census indicate that the difference between the median income of black households and that of white households had changed little since the 1980s. The median income of Afro-American households was 63% of that of white households.
