Protect the promise of the new fiscal policies

The effects of the 1997 budget and tax relief legislation will be spread out over several years, but if they are successful they can bring the US into the next millenium with opportunities for greater entrepreneur investments and successes. Legislators must resist the temptation to increase spending.

Regional economic forecasts for nine geographical areas in the US are presented. The Mountain States have the highest projected growth in gross domestic product in 1997 at 4.0%. The Middle Atlantic States are lowest at 2.0%.
