Blood in the board room: thrillers of the capitalist persuasion
Article Abstract:
Books that use businesses as the main setting are often marketed as financial thrillers, but have nothing new to offer readers. The plots often seem like the authors followed a recipe that includes untrustworthy characters and manipulative action. Five current books are evaluated.

Memories and invention
Article Abstract:
An author describes how he wrote a book about a long-time friendship from his memories only. He later found a diary that included stories he related in the book and found that, while his memories were incomplete, he did not need the information from the diary to write his book.
