Publicis, Saatchi & Saatchi deal will create traditional group
Article Abstract:
When Publicis and Saatchi & Saatchi merge to form Publicis Groupe, the combined entity will have only 20 % of its business in marketing services. Some onlookers are concerned that Publicis may be paying too much. Maurice Levy, chief executive of Publicis, will direct the new company, which will be one of the world's six largest ad agencies.

WPP makes tentative bid for Tempus
Article Abstract:
The UK's WPP Group PLC has trumped the bid of France's Havas Advertising to buy UK media buying service Tempus Group. WPP's offer is 550-555 pence-a-share as compared to Havas's 541. The Tempus board has already approved Havas's offer and WPP, which already owns 22% of Tempus, will not launch a formal offer unless the higher bid is backed by Tempus management.
