Recycling goes straight to the source
Article Abstract:
Australian companies are cooperating with local, state, and federal governments to develop recycling and packaging self-regulations in an effort to rethink how goods are packaged and recycled. The covenant was inaugurated on August 27, 1999, and contained 36 signatures from 16 companies, industry associations, and government groups. The Australian Local Government Association, however, did not sign, as that group has criticized recycling programs because of the financial losses such programs incur.
