Unions can sue on behalf of members

Companies that do not adhere to the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Act of 1988 can be sued by unions. A unanimous May 13, 1996, Supreme Court ruling permits unions to seek back wages for members whose employees violated the WARN Act.

Biased crack prosecutions claim denied
Article Abstract:
The Supreme Court ruled that black defendants in crack cocaine cases were not unfairly being singled out for prosecution because of race. The May 13, 1996, ruling, had only one dissenter, Justice John Paul Stevens.
